TasCOSS is hiring a Events & Membership Officer to assist in the planning and delivery of TasCOSS events and promotions, and provide services and support to our 200+ strong membership base of community service organisations across Tasmania.

  • Location: Hobart, Tasmania
  • Conditions: 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week); permanent part-time
  • Award & Salary Package: SCHCADS Level 3, plus TasCOSS Staff Wages Policy ($64,357 per annum + 11.5% superannuation)

THE ROLE:

The Events & Membership Officer is responsible for assisting in the planning and delivery of TasCOSS events and promotions, as well as providing administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the TasCOSS office.

The position is also the first point of contact for TasCOSS Members and is responsible for administering membership subscriptions, activities, communications, and providing excellent service to all members and stakeholders.

The role requires close collaboration with the Communications & Advocacy Lead and the broader TasCOSS team. Some intrastate travel and occasional out-of-hours work may be required.

TO BE ELIGIBLE AND SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Proficiency in using office software packages, including Microsoft Office and database, information and client relationship management systems.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Experience in coordinating meetings, events or workshops, including logistical arrangements and preparation of materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff and external stakeholders.
