TasCOSS is hiring a Policy & Reform Lead to lead our policy-related initiatives and work closely with the community services industry and government to transform industry sustainability and impact.
If you have a passion for social and public policy development which challenges and changes the systems, behaviours and attitudes that create poverty, inequality and exclusion, we’d love you to join our team!
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Policy & Reform Lead is a key member of the Leadership Team in establishing and implementing strategic direction for TasCOSS. The position is responsible for leading TasCOSS’s policy-related work to challenge and change the systems, behaviours and attitudes that create poverty, inequality and exclusion.
The role will lead a small team to advance systemic change in the community services industry to improve outcomes for individuals and communities. This will include working closely with the community services industry and governments to transform industry sustainability and impact, and responding to the Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government's Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings.
The Policy & Reform Lead is required to work with a high degree of autonomy in setting priorities, with minimal supervision and exercising initiative and professional judgement. Some intra/interstate travel and occasional out-of-hours work may be required.
The successful candidate will be able advocate effectively for issues at a high level, lead and manage teams effectively, and have a strong commitment to social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion.
