The Negotiations & Agreements Officer will play the lead role in providing support to the LUAA Manager (and team), in advice, coordinating, negotiating, and finalising all Negotiation and Agreement matters with external Stakeholders (Government Agencies, Local Councils and Corporate Proponents) and as defined under the Taungurung Land Use Activity Agreement (LUAA).
This role also includes briefing of the TLaWC Board LUAA subcommittee as to negotiated outcomes for their approval, and execution/ implementation of finalised agreements.
Status: Full time
Location: Broadford, with flexibility to work from home
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 + salary sacrifice benefits. Salary will be based off experience

Key Duties
- Reviewing and providing internal advice in respect of the Land Use Activity Agreement (LUAA) notifications issued to TLaWC.
- Obtaining/ providing legal and strategic advice in relation to land use activity interpretation and agreement negotiations to protect the rights and interests of Taungurung and drafting agreements reflecting negotiation outcomes.
- Preparing correspondence to be sent from TLaWC to the Responsible Person and/or Decision-Maker (as defined under the Traditional Owner Settlement Act 2010).
- Briefing the LUAA Manager (and team), Agreements Unit Executive Manager, CEO and Board as necessary.
- Attending LUAA team, Subcommittee and/or Corporation meetings.
- Preparation of briefing notes and/or memorandum of advice to the LUAA Subcommittee in respect of the proposed land use activity.
- Briefing and liaising with external legal providers and consultants (including counsel).
- Ensuring compliance and track completion of all executed agreements under the LUAA.
- Negotiate and build relationships with TLaWC RSA partners and stakeholders including but not limited to government, local council, industry, and Traditional Owners.
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures and work instructions to support a safe work environment for all staff.
