As a comprehensive disability and aged care provider duly registered with the NDIS, our personalised care plans give our clients the help and relief they need, be at home or at our Supported Independent Living facilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The position for the Disability Support Worker involves supporting clients in their home and community with independent life and living skills as well as engaging in local and wider social activities. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed care workers with experience in supporting participants with complex needs and who are passionate about person-centred values. The job involves:
  • Providing personal care including but not limited to hoisting, peg feeding, medication administration, bowel care, showering, and grooming.
  • Working with complex clients including clients with behavioural issues or clients under Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Working with dual mental health disorder clients.
  • Working with families with complex and multiple needs.
  • Working from a client-centred perspective where the clients and carers are experts in their own lives.
  • Being reliable and flexible with ad hoc cover shifts as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Yellow Card or NDIS worker screening clearance (or immediately obtain)
  • Blue Card (or immediately obtain)
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or immediately obtain)
  • Driver’s License, comprehensive vehicle insurance and a Vehicle
  • Positive attitude and passion to improving the lives of people
  • COVID Vaccination Certificate
  • Good physical health and fitness

PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

  • 2+ years' experience in supporting people with disability
  • Previous experience working with early childhood development
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support/Social Worker/Mental Health qualification
  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance
  • Currently enrolled in Allied Health Study area (Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy/Social Work/Psychology)
