About the role

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of carers across Australia? The Benevolent Society is excited to announce the growth and expansion of our Carer Gateway Program, and we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team! Caring for a loved one is important work. Some days caring brings great joy, but some days it can be lonely or a little overwhelming. No matter how you feel today, our Carer Gateway will be just a phone call away. Carer Gateway is an initiative to provide carers with information, support, counselling, and coaching.

As our Partnerships Specialist, you will grow the awareness of the Carer Gateway program through the development of partnerships with key stakeholders, referral panels, networks, and direct consumer engagement.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Execute strategies to grow referrals to the Carer Gateway program.
  • Manage stakeholder and consumer advisory group relationships.
  • Establish and maintain the Carer Gateway mutual referral framework in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create, distribute, and maintain content and information packs regarding the service to inform consumers, referral agencies and stakeholder panels.
  • Conduct information sessions and presentations to key stakeholders and promote the services.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and maintain relationships from establishment to ongoing with Carer Gateway services.
  • Work in accordance with our Professional Governance Framework to ensure the services and support we provide to our clients and each other are person centred, connected, effective, and safe.

  • Passion for empowering carers: Helping carers lead fulfilling lives while supporting their loved ones in achieving a better quality of life.
  • Knowledge of networks: Familiarity with referral networks, government departments, and key stakeholders relevant to the Carer Gateway program.
  • Understanding of social service sectors: Awareness of the opportunities and challenges within this field.
  • Relationship-building expertise: Demonstrated skills in fostering and maintaining productive relationships with multiple stakeholders. Ability to leverage from existing stakeholder contacts.
  • Strong communication and time management: Exceptional interpersonal and organisational abilities.
  • Multicultural community engagement: Experience working with diverse communities, fostering inclusion and understanding to deliver impactful outreach and support programs.
  • Flexibility in working locations: Comfortable working from our Hurstville office and traveling to North Sydney or Inner West Sydney for community outreach activities.
  • Program representation: Ability to represent the Carer Gateway program positively and articulate its benefits effectively to increase referrals.
