About the Role

We are seeking a Community Programs Team Leader to oversee the Communities for Children Program (Wyong and Kempsey) and the Safer Children, Safer Communities Program (Caboolture, Port Augusta, and Condobolin).

This permanent, full-time role is based at Kanwal and The Entrance Community Centre on the Central Coast with travel to Kempsey and our three communities within the SCSC program.

You will lead a team of Community Development Workers, delivering high-quality services that create safe and supportive environments for children and families. Providing strong leadership and professional supervision, you will ensure your team is well-supported and effective.

The role requires:

  • Experience working in rural and remote communities, addressing unique challenges and building meaningful relationships, with preferred experience working alongside of Aboriginal Controlled Community Organisations
  • Strong partnership-building skills, working with diverse communities, government agencies, and stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of community data and its role in driving change, with experience in data analysis and application.

Skills and Experience 

You will have a degree qualification in Community Development, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline and:  

  • People Leadership – at least 2 – 3 years’ experience building/maintaining an engaged, high performing team and developing their capability.
  • Program Leadership - experience managing and leading programs in the Community Services sector.
  • Practice Leadership - a passion for continuous improvement and implementing industry best practice into service delivery.
  • Flexible & Collaborative Approach – lead this innovative team/program and engage a range of stakeholders.
  • Passion for Community Development, Systems Change, and Collective Impact.
  • Strong data capability, including data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership skills.
  • Strong management skills, including troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines, and conflict resolution.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and balancing priorities.
  • A relevant degree qualification and a current driver’s licence
