Parenting Assessment and Skills Development Service Coordinator

Tweddle Child and Family Health Service

Sometimes you get a chance to be part of something special. That something special is Tweddle Child and Family Health Service (Tweddle).

We are a leading and long-standing Early Parenting Centre in Victoria with a proud history and commitment to strengthen the lives of babies, toddlers and their families. Our staff are committed to the values of Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Engagement in the delivery of life-changing care to the families we serve. Be part of the journey, share your passion and become part of the Tweddle family.

Tweddle is a specialist public hospital with our main sites in Footscray and Wyndham.

We are seeking a competent, innovative and enthusiastic full, time Parenting Assessment and Skill Development Service (PASDS) Co-ordinator to join our team in Footscray. If you have a tertiary qualification in either Nursing, Psychology, Allied Health or equivalent post graduate studies in a relevant clinical area, including infant mental health, this role may be just right for you.

Tweddle's Parenting Assessment and Skills Development Service (PASDS) is for parents who have children between 0 and 3 years, who are currently involved with Child Protection (Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH). From the initial assessment of children's wellbeing and parents' capacity to care for and protect their children, the service progresses to include intensive parenting education and skills development. This intensive therapeutic program is used by Child Protection and the Children's Court to inform their decision-making and to ensure appropriate supports are provided to children and their families. The purpose of the role is to maintain and foster solution focused care, processes and systems in order to provide and deliver quality family centred outcomes.
The PASDS Coordinator role is a full time role but we are open to discussing part time job sharing arrangements. This role is part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for continually improving service delivery, performance targets, and staff management.

Tweddle is a child and family friendly workplace and an equal opportunity employer.

Tweddle has a commitment to the importance and equity of access to optimal health and wellbeing for aboriginal babies, toddlers and families and we uphold self-determination and partnership as key principles in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families. Our journey to reconciliation is underway and we encourage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates for this role.
