I’m Blake: a young man with a cheeky sense of humour and an appetite for marshmallows. I spend time volunteering, exploring the world on walks or drives in the car, and chilling-out at home. I am a Christian with strong links to a local church.

I happen to have an intellectual impairment. I need support in day-to-day living, in communicating and interacting with others, and in participating as a valued member of wider community groups.

My support team is working to empower me to reach my goal of living in my own home like other men in their twenties. I am looking for another person to join my team. This person will help my team to build upon my achievements and develop new ones.

For this position, experience in the disability sector is not necessary. Instead, it is essential to have a willingness to work with disability and a mindset of growth. My family and support team will provide the training you will need. Your passion can support my ongoing development.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE

EVERY WEEK:

• Sunday 7am to 4pm
• Sunday 10pm – Monday 10am (includes sleepover)
• Tuesday 8pm to Wednesday 12pm (includes sleepover)

ONE PER MONTH:

• In Week 2 of the month, Saturday 9pm to Sunday 7pm (includes sleepover and can be followed by regular Sunday shift listed above)
• In Week 3 of the month, Friday 9pm to Saturday 9am (includes sleepover)

DUTIES

• provide support for my activities of daily living such as: preparing meals, household chores, bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting and continence management, community involvement, and therapy exercises
• additional daytime and overnight shifts to cover for other staff on my team, as needed
• attend team meetings (once per month – in person; once per month – online)

Optional role: Social Media Interest

• An optional role within my team is to support me to achieve my goal of using social media to celebrate my achievements, document my life, and connect with my communities. It would include coordinating with others on my team to create content that tells my story.

• NDIS Disability Worker Screening Clearance
