The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bookkeeper join our team in June 2025. The successful candidate will provide a variety of financial and accounting functions, including processing timely and accurate payroll for our employees.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Finance
- Payroll
- Process accurate payroll, including allowances, deductions, and salary packaging, as well as other payroll-related payments (super, WorkCover, BAS, portable long service leaves, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with industrial instruments and government updates.
- Administer and maintain the HR Payroll system, providing user training and supporting employees with payroll inquiries.
- Prepare month-end payroll journals, including leave adjustments and reconciliation, and expense accruals and reallocation.
- Bookkeeping
- Reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable.
- Assistant accountant
- Assist with month-end income and expense recognitions
- Draft project financial reports for leadership and external stakeholders.
- Assist CFO and other SLT with internal and external audits, budgets and reforecasts, and any ad-hoc reports.
- Work collaboratively and proactively with various departments to promote better financial practices, ensuring accurate and timely financial processes.
- Perform other financial duties as required.
- Assist with monitoring and assignment of organisational property
- Assist with the usage of organisational security devices in conjunction with CSM
- Any other administrative task as required
Key Requirements:
- Extensive bookkeeping experience - recording and maintaining a business’ financial transactions in a competent manner.
- Sound experience processing payroll in line with enterprise agreements in a timely and accurate manner.
- High-level financial skills and demonstrated ability to synthesise and communicate information in simple and engaging format.
- Experience in providing management reports to senior leadership in a timely and accurate manner
- Experience using computer systems and establishing protocols for data entry, management, and analysis including MS Office 365 using MYOB, payroll systems including experience using HR3 payroll system is desirable.
- Collaborative approach to working within and building the capacity of a team.
- Excellent attention-to-detail attribute and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Be willing to undergo a police background check
