Experienced and Graduate Heritage Consultant Roles Available.

Role

Roles and Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and conducting or participating in heritage surveys and consultations across a variety of terrains;
  • preparing reports;
  • Working effectively as part of a team alongside Traditional Owners and other stakeholders; and
  • Proactively managing time and workload to ensure that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard, relevant deadlines are met and any budgetary constraints are complied with.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in Archaeology or Anthropology with honours or equivalent;
  • Experience working with First Nations people and communities including in remote locations;
  • An understanding of WA heritage legislation;
  • A willingness to work in tough environments;
  • Effective written communication skills including the ability to write with a target audience in mind;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • A valid driving license, four wheel driving experience preferred;
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and to contribute strongly in teamwork situations; and
  • Respect for Aboriginal cultural protocols and collaborative decision-making

Desirable skills would include:

  • Ability to deliver training to a diverse set of people, including First Nations people; or
  • Grant writing experience.
