The Anne Kantor Fellowship is a unique training program providing paid positions to equip new voices in policy and democratic debates. Named after the philanthropist and trailblazer, Anne Kantor, our Fellowships seek to support, train, and nurture the next generation of change-makers.

About the role

This position will be delivered in partnership with the Pacific Elders’ Voice. The Pacific Elders' Voice is an independent group of prominent Pacific leaders dedicated to serving the Pacific's current and future challenges and opportunities.

During the 12-month Fellowship, you will undertake research, prepare reports and contribute to policy work on current and future climate and environmental threats facing Pacific Island Nations.

This is a paid opportunity that combines on-the-job experience, mentoring and structured workplace training.

The position is based in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory.

Fellows should possess:

  • A Track Record of Excellence: Candidates should have a proven history of academic or professional achievements that demonstrate their commitment to making a difference.

  • Innovation and Creativity: We value bold thinkers who are not afraid to challenge the status quo and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Collaboration and Empathy: Fellows should be adept at working with diverse teams and building meaningful relationships.

Candidates must:

  • Have graduated, or made significant progress towards, a tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Law, Environment, Climate etc), and
  • Have a background in, and understanding of, the issues impacting Pacific Island Nations.

This position is offered on a one-year contract. Part-time, remote or work from home arrangements are not available.

International applicants must be able to meet the eligibility requirements necessary to obtain a Temporary Activity visa (Subclass 408).
