The Babes Project helps families thrive by creating safe spaces and opportunities for vulnerable women to access vital education and support in the perinatal period. Over the past 15 years, we have walked alongside over 1,000 women in pregnancy and early parenting at our centres in Croydon and Frankston. With a focus on empowerment and trauma-informed care, and with the help of generous supporters and dedicated volunteers, we are changing the landscape of perinatal support in Australia to ensure women and their babies can access the holistic support they need.

About the role

The Fundraising and Donor Engagement Specialist will be responsible for expanding The Babes Project’s donor base and strengthening relationships with existing supporters. This role will focus on developing innovative campaigns to attract new donors, implementing personalised stewardship initiatives, and fostering long-term engagement through meaningful donor experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute donor acquisition campaigns to attract and retain supporters.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to re-engage lapsed donors and convert casual supporters into long-term contributors.
  • Manage donor communications, ensuring regular updates, impact reporting, and personalised recognition initiatives.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with donors to strengthen relationships and understand their motivations.
  • Design and implement tailored donor journeys to encourage repeat giving and increased contributions.
  • Plan and coordinate donor engagement activities, including fundraising events, program updates, and exclusive content to enhance donor loyalty.
  • Analyse donor trends and fundraising performance to refine strategies and optimise results

Key selection criteria

Essential:

  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, or marketing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in designing and implementing donor stewardship programs.
  • Ability to use data analytics to inform fundraising strategies.
  • Creativity and innovation in donor engagement and campaign development.

Desirable:

  • Experience in major donor or corporate fundraising.
  • Understanding of CRM systems and donor management software.
  • Background in event planning or community engagement.
