The Bread and Butter Project is Australia’s first social enterprise bakery. We bake premium artisan bread and pastry, whilst providing paid baking training to people from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds.

Although we operate as a wholesale business, as a social enterprise 100% of our profits are reinvested into training, social and career assistance for refugees and asylum seekers. It's a simple but powerful formula - the more bread and pastry we sell, the more refugees we can assist.

We are passionate about good food and making a difference to people's lives in the most practical way – through building skills for meaningful, sustainable employment.

We are looking for a charismatic and caring individual to sell our amazing product as well as our message, whilst taking care of our customers. You must be a great self-starter, unafraid to put yourself out there.

This role will be primarily meeting new people, developing new and existing relationships in a friendly, thoughtful and professional manner.

The primary responsibility will be to strategically build our customer base, whilst maintaining strong relationships with our existing customers.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Energetic salesperson at heart, with a depth of experience in the hospitality space and an understanding of (and excitement for) our unique business model.

Impeccable communication and presentation skills and a drive to sell a whole brand as well as a quality product.

You possess excellent communication skills and are able to adapt them to a diverse range of stakeholders, including delivery drivers, small business owners, chefs and corporate supporters.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of Sydney hospitality industry is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Sound time management and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to observe, analyse and solve new and existing customer queries
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating with high degree of autonomy
  • Computer literacy – Excel, CRM systems, MYOB.
