The Bread and Butter Project is Australia's first social enterprise bakery. We bake premium artisan bread and pastry, whilst providing paid baking training to people from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds. Although we operate as a wholesale business, as a social enterprise 100% of our profits are reinvested into training, social and career assistance for refugees and asylum seekers. It's a simple but powerful formula - the more bread and pastry we sell, the more refugees we can assist.

About the role

We have an opportunity for an energetic and self-motivated Wholesale Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Sales team, you will be responsible for managing and growing sales for The Bread and Butter Project, Wholesale portfolio, achieving key business objectives and priorities.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving Business Sales Growth
  • Actively contribute to the team achieving monthly sales objectives.
  • Looking for new business opportunities to drive knowledge of The Bread and Butter business
  • Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers
  • Marketing and social media content: including good news stories and what is happening in the business

Skills and experience

Selection criteria includes:

  • Minimum 3 years in sales in a sales role in the hospitality industry
  • Passion for the hospitality/wholesale industry
  • Demonstrated ability to handle all tasks associated with Sales, Marketing and Social Media
  • Excellent communication, time management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results
  • Work with enthusiasm and a positive 'can do' attitude
  • Australian PR/Citizen with drivers' licence
  • Must be physically fit to safely carry out duties such as lifting
  • It is essential that you have a current driver's license

Additionally, you will have:

  • Passion for what we do
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Commercial knowledge - understanding market & industry dynamics, pricing strategies.
  • Strong sales experience, and ability to achieve targets, executed priorities within a structured call, increased distribution.
  • Demonstrated courage and resilience to have constructive and challenging conversations.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers based on value creation.
  • Occasional access to the sales car
