We have an opportunity for your career to make a difference! We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join our Renal and Metabolic Division.

The Opportunity

The Renal and Metabolic Division has a global profile as one of the most impactful kidney research programs in the world. The Research Fellow is required to play a role in the ongoing conduct of existing studies, as well as contributing in the development of new proposals and developing their own research program. 

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop protocols and implementation for innovative trial designs
  • Contribute in the development of publications, presentations and other documents related to the research activities above
  • Work with the Program Head or Program Director in developing new study proposals
  • Take the lead and assist with the preparation of grant applications and manuscript preparation
  • Provide a consistent level of contribution to the research activities of the program
  • Maintain existing collaborations and establish others 
  • Provide support and co-supervision of post-graduate students
  • Remain abreast of developments in the related to the program that are relevant to the study and the Institute

Our successful candidate has/is:

  • Medically trained doctor e.g. nephrology
  • PhD in Medicine, Public Health or related field
  • Understanding of research methods and importance, especially clinical trials
  • Interest in the development and coordination of clinical trials especially adaptive and platform trials
  • Experience in writing research reports
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills and strategic thinking
  • Excellent time management, organisational and interpersonal skills 
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products and the Internet
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments
