The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific, proudly supporting regional development since 1947. Governed by 27 member countries and territories, SPC is a treaty-based, intergovernmental organisation and a cornerstone of regional collaboration — with over 900 staff working across public health, ocean science, education, agriculture, geoscience, climate, and more.
SPC plays a central role in addressing the shared challenges of the Blue Pacific, acting as a convener, knowledge partner, and service provider to its members. The Director-General is SPC’s chief executive officer and public representative, responsible for leading a complex, decentralised, and culturally rich organisation. This role requires exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and strategic capability.
