As the Head of International Programs, you will play an integral, strategic role in leading the International Program Department in implementing its overseas development program across a broad range of programs in disability, social community development and public health.
You will have demonstrated program management experience to effectively deliver on overseas project management responsibilities, including the completion of monitoring and evaluation visits, tracking the progress of projects against established outcomes and the strategic aims of the organisation.
Working in partnership with Implementing Countries you will support project leaders in areas of implementation, policy to practice implementation, financial management, administration and reporting to ensure desirable project outcomes.
Your attention to detail will ensure that all project activities comply with the ACFID Code of Conduct, Partnership Agreements and DFAT requirements.
You will also play a role in promoting The Leprosy Mission in Australia in the Christian and wider community.
The successful candidate will have proven strategic leadership and team management skills along with experience in the management, monitoring and evaluation of development projects with DFAT or similar funding organisations.
You will have a graduate degree, preferably in Health, Development or International Relations and experience working in a cross-cultural setting in community development or comparable situation.
A sensitivity to cross cultural issues of community development and ability to communicate with, and encourage Implementing Country staff, and an understanding of Christian mission in Supporting and Implementing Countries.
Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to teamwork and an ability to speak in public and present the work of TLMA to a range of audiences, from government and sector peers through to church groups and community engagement.
Digital Dexterity with the ability to confidently and effectively leverage digital tools, platforms, and systems to achieve business objectives. This includes the willingness to adapt to new technologies, optimise processes through digital solutions, and collaborate effectively in digital environments. You be comfortable with learning and adopting emerging technologies, solving problems through digital solutions, and contributing to a culture of innovation and agility.
This position is based at The Leprosy Mission Australia National Office in Box Hill Victoria, with flexibility and hybrid options, and will require travel overseas of up to 60 days per annum.
