As a Consultant, your core role will include:

  • Facilitating mentoring sessions with each individual on a weekly basis
  • Planning and coordinating new valued social roles for each mentee across various life domains (e.g., work, community, home, leisure, academics, travel, civic and social engagement and more)
  • Consulting with key stakeholders including family, supporters, friends, co-workers, Circle of support, housemates and community
  • Working within South Eastern suburbs and remotely (utilising video conferencing when required)

You must have:

  • Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A deep commitment to ensuring individuals with disabilities have a genuinely good life in the community
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Understanding of community and community development
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those living with disabilities
  • Familiarity with Social Role Valorisation, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Customised Employment, Micro-Businesses, and Individualised Living Arrangements, or a willingness to learn
  • ABN, insurance, and satisfactory safety screening

It would be desirable for you to have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Disability Studies, Counselling, Allied Health or similar)
  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience

Please note that this role can be considered for part-time engagement as well.
