Position Overview

The Push is looking for a young person to support the management of our contemporary music training workshops. These workshops support the needs of young people at every stage of their music industry journey, providing interactive and engaging content across a range of topics. This position will also support operational delivery functions across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Youth Lead, Operations and Training is a new position at The Push that will play a key role in supporting the organisation to uplift its Training Workshop product with a national focus. This will include process management and customer service activities aligned to training bookings.

Our dream candidate is a self-starter who demonstrates great initiative, with a desire to learn new skills. Previous experience in training is desirable but not required. The successful candidate must be passionate about providing opportunities and training for young people in contemporary music across Australia.

This position is a dedicated Youth Lead role, with the opportunity open to people under 26 years of age, as supported under the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act 2010, Section 12 (Special Measures).

Position Responsibilities

As guided by The Push 2022-2025 Strategy and with support from the Head of Operations, the Youth Lead, Operations and Training will;

Training:

  • Manage the training booking process and communications for all incoming training requests.
  • Allocate workshop facilitators and resources for all training bookings.
  • Apply customer service principles when acting as the point of contact for The Push’s training product.
  • Support marketing activities to develop the training product customer base.
  • Develop documentation and help review and improve training processes.
  • Assist in evaluating training products through feedback, surveys and performance assessments.

Operations:

  • Provide support to the Head of Operations, with various tasks across the organisational budget, financial reporting and pay cycles.
  • Manage the day-to-day receipt reconciliations for organisational purchases.
  • Assist with administrative and compliance functions
  • Manage the organisation’s public-facing email inboxes, providing timely and accurate referrals and support
  • Support the management and of all systems, processes and policies as required to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

Overall:

  • Intermediate computer literacy including Office 365.
  • Attend out of hours meetings and events, as required.
  • Other duties, as directed by the Head of Operations.

Qualifications, Certificates and Licenses

The selected candidate will need to successfully complete or possess a current:

  • Working with Children Check
  • Victoria Police Background Check
  • Full Australian Driver’s License
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and practical experience in training and business operations would be beneficial but is not necessary.

  • Experience in customer service and relationship building activities from first contact through to delivery.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative when delivering work processes.
  • Creative thinker with confidence to provide input into team and organisation-wide discussions.
  • Big ideas to support The Push to achieve our organisational purpose of giving every young person the opportunity to participate and thrive in Australian music.
