About the role

The Senior Communications Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies and initiatives to increase the Women’s profile and impact and engage effectively with its stakeholders and audiences, particularly patients, the Department of Health and health professionals.

This hands on role has a focus on communications, public information campaigns and stakeholder engagement strategies for significant projects, including the new public fertility service, led by the Women’s, and the new state-wide Egg and Sperm Bank to be located at the Women’s in Parkville.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A degree in communications or related discipline and solid experience in a similar role, preferably within a not-for-profit, government or similar organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful communication strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, public information campaigns and branding projects.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt communication styles for a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing and mitigating risks in relation to stakeholder relationships, the achievement of marketing and communication timelines and objectives.
  • Outstanding inter-personal and team building skills, and ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from a range of backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Well-developed time-management skills and experience working autonomously to effectively and successfully manage concurrent communication and marketing projects.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Please be aware that in line with the Health Minister's Covid-19 Mandatory Vaccination Order, all workers at the Women's regardless of role, will be required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 or hold an acceptable medical exemption.

Influenza Vaccination

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required. As this role fits into category C of the departments risk ratings, applicants are strongly encouraged (although not required) to be vaccinated against influenza.
