The Opportunity:

We have several career opportunities available for Early Childhood Teacher's within our Early Learning Centres in the Darwin and Palmerston regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and programs.
  • Risk Management: Support the Director and team to implement and oversee risk management strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Program Delivery: Design and deliver innovative programs for children that encapsulate social, emotional and developmental needs of our diverse community.
  • Project Planning: Work in collaboration with the Director and senior management to implement both long-term and short-term projects for the successful operation of the service, including program development and strategies for long-term success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop, engage, and collaborate to improve local relationships while identifying partnerships, programs, and events that may benefit the community and the Y.
  • Fostering Inclusiveness: Maintain a clean, welcoming, and open environment for all members of staff and the community.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Early Childhood qualification or working towards.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Early Childhood Teacher or 5 years as a diploma qualified educator/group lead.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012) and CPR

Mandatory Requirements

YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

  • Valid Working with Children Clearance.
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
