The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Operations will partner with firm leadership, specifically the CEO and Chair, in the day-to-day operational oversight of the firm’s finance, risk, IT, governance, legal and human resources functions.

This is a rare opportunity that will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading a diverse team through contemporary and collaborative methods.
  • Managing finance, including payroll, accounts receivables and payables, budgeting, target setting, rate card/pricing, remuneration framework, and year-end account preparation.
  • Conducting ongoing management reporting for client projects, state government, internal campaigns, etc.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective internal controls, policies, and procedures, ensuring staff awareness and compliance.
  • Overseeing firm governance, including shareholder matters, legal issues, and contracts with clients and service providers.
  • Managing Foundation financial and governance matters.
  • Handling B Corp recertification and other certifications and compliance.
  • Executing and reviewing the firm’s risk management framework and plan.
  • Overseeing ICT, including security, asset management, troubleshooting, and new technology implementation.
  • Managing tenancy matters, including lease negotiations and relocations for Melbourne and Sydney offices.
  • Managing third-party suppliers and contracts, including legal advisors, accountants, corporate finance advisors, and ICT providers.

To Be Successful

Our client seeks a proactive, considered and solution offering individual with a drive for relationships in a dynamic consulting setting. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Passion for a consultancy that positively impacts broader communities through its initiatives.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in Xero (preferred) or other accounting software.
  • Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge with excellent analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in operations management and financial functions of a medium-sized business.
  • Preferred background in professional services.
  • High degree of accountability with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Tertiary or postgraduate qualification in business, commerce, or a related discipline.
