Combining passion, commitment and activism, Thorne Harbour Health aims to improve the health and wellbeing of our LGBTIQ+ communities and of those living with or affected by HIV.
The Therapeutic Services and Capacity Building programs at Thorne Harbour Health provide therapeutic counselling and support services to individuals, couples and families, as well as group programs. We develop and deliver training and capacity building to community and other organisations. These specialist services target the LGBTIQ+ community and people living with, or affected by, HIV or Hepatitis C.
This role is your opportunity to join a progressive organisation and dynamic team at Victoria’s leading LGBTIQ+ community-controlled health service.
LGBTIQ+ communities experience sexual assault and family violence at rates equal to or higher than the non-LGBTIQ+ population. Thorne Harbour Health is dedicated to addressing the impacts of sexual assault and family violence in our communities through culturally safe, LGBTIQ+-affirming therapeutic counselling support. Our Therapeutic Services and Family Violence team is committed to transforming the lives of our clients and communities to build and support healing and recovery.
The role will be delivering high quality, evidence-based counselling support to clients from the LGBTIQ+ community and those living with HIV, who have been impacted by sexual assault and family violence. We are seeking an experienced, passionate person to join our team of specialist family violence workers working at our Hoddle Street office.
