Thorne Harbour Health (THH) is an LGBTIQ+ community-controlled health organisation governed by our members and accountable to the communities we serve.
The LGBTIQ+ Mental Health & AOD Workforce Development (LGBTIQ+ MH WFD) Training Program is a Victorian State Government-funded initiative aimed at addressing inequities in mental health outcomes for the LGBTIQ+ community. This state-wide train the trainer program is designed to enhance the capacity of the mental health and AOD workforce to deliver culturally safe and inclusive services.
The LGBTIQ+ Mental Health Workforce Development Trainer will work with the Thorne Harbour Health Training and Capacity Building Team Leader and Senior Trainer to deliver a coordinated evidence-based state-wide Train the Trainer training program, with a primary goal to improve LGBTIQ+ sensitivity, reduce stigma and discrimination, and build mental health sector capacity to meet the health needs of LGBTIQ+ Victorians. LGBTIQ+ community members will play a key role in the co-design and co-delivery of all training in partnership with targeted mental health professionals with individual sector specific knowledge.
