About the Role:

You’ll gain hands-on experience in various pest control methods, including fencing, habitat modification, trapping, shooting, relocation, and poison baiting. Every day brings new challenges and the opportunity to develop expertise in a range of wildlife management techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed site inspections to assess invasive species presence and activity.
  • Provide informed recommendations to clients on effective management strategies.
  • Implement humane and effective wildlife control techniques.
  • Perform animal trapping, control methods, and install exclusion barriers.
  • Relocate wildlife when necessary, ensuring ethical handling practices.
  • Educate clients on wildlife management and prevention techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in report preparation.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical and legal wildlife management standards.
  • Conduct humane euthanasia of vertebrate pests using approved methods.
  • Utilize GPS and field mapping/data-logging tools proficiently.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Navigate bushland and remote environments confidently.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
  • A strong work ethic and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the role, taking on new challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and safety protocols.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, manage time effectively, and use Microsoft Office.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic field conditions.
  • A willingness to obtain or already hold the following:
    • Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (1080 + PAPP endorsement) or equivalent.
    • Firearms license.
    • 4WD driving competency.
