The Tiwi Land Council was established on 18 August 1978, following representation by the Tiwi people to the Federal Government for recognition of their distinct geographic and cultural identity.

The Executive Officer will be responsible for the provision of administrative and secretarial support to the Tiwi Land Council under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). They will be based in Darwin working closely with all members of the Management Team, providing strategic support and coordinating the work of other administrative staff in Darwin and on the Tiwi Islands.
