The Company

Our client, The Grace Tame Foundation (GTF) is a not-for-profit philanthropic organisation established by the 2021 Australian of the Year, Grace Tame, to campaign for and help fund initiatives which work to prevent and respond to sexual abuse of children and others.

GTF is dedicated to advocating for change through accessible storytelling to challenge harmful social norms around child sexual abuse. The Foundation is committed to reforming laws to eliminate conditions that enable child sexual abuse, and to supporting survivors with legal assistance. Their focus is on preventing and disrupting child sexual abuse through advocacy, education, and legal reform.

The Role

GTF is now gearing up for its ambitious 2025-2030 strategy. With a solid foundation in place, they are now seeking an experienced CEO to lead them through the next phase of growth and impact. The Founder will continue to advocate for change, working alongside the incoming CEO, dedicated Board and team.

Over the next five years, the Foundation’s focus will be on:

  • Building a Strong Core Team: Investing in top talent to drive the mission forward.
  • Expanding Funding: Growing resources to scale efforts for systemic change.
  • Launching the Grooming Education Program: Equipping schools with the tools to recognise and prevent child sexual abuse.
  • Global Collaboration: Partnering with international organisations to tackle child sexual abuse on a global scale.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Board Administration and Support

  • Collaborate with the Founder and Board to define and execute the Foundation’s strategic plan.
  • Develop operational policies and procedures for effective program and activity management.
  • Define and manage the resources needed for effective operations, obtaining Board approvals as required.
  • Provide regular reports on operational issues including facilities, funding, stakeholder relations, risk management, and HR matters.

Finance, Taxation, and Risk Management

  • Oversee income and expenditure, identifying and managing financial risks.
  • Prepare and manage operational budgets, ensuring controlled expenditure and maintained income.
  • Ensure compliance with financial legislation, taxation, and audit requirements.
  • Meet accreditation and quality standards.

Fundraising and Campaigns Support

  • Contribute to fundraising strategies, including resource identification, funder research, and proposal development.

Human Resource Management

  • Oversee future recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
  • Implement staff work plans, KPIs, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure a safe, positive workplace and comply with health and safety legislation.

About You

The Foundation is seeking a visionary CEO to lead the organisation through its ambitious 2025-2030 strategy.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the Foundation’s mission to prevent child sexual abuse and support survivors, with a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and a proven track record in leadership and organisational growth.

Required Skills and Proficiencies

Education:

  • Advanced degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Executive-level experience in a nonprofit organisation.
  • Proven success in fundraising, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • Track record of developing and implementing effective programs and scaling organisational capabilities.
  • Experience in advocacy and public policy.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and managerial abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and financial planning experience.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit sector trends and best practices.
  • Expertise in sexual abuse issues, institutional policies, and legislative advocacy.
