About you

Are you passionate about gender equality in trades and ready to drive real change? Tradeswomen Australia (TWA) is seeking a Local Lead to drive the Gippsland Women's Fellowship Project, an initiative empowering women to thrive in clean energy careers. In this role, you'll coordinate training and career pathways, partner with TAFE Gippsland to deliver a Vocational Program tailored to regional women, and collaborate with ENGIE and other local businesses to create employment opportunities.

You'll also support workplace cultural change and inclusion strategies, while building and maintaining strong relationships with industry, government, and community stakeholders. If you have project management experience, a passion for diversity and inclusion, and strong local knowledge of Gippsland’s industries, we’d love to hear from you! Bonus points for having a trade, or for being experienced in the energy sector, male-dominated industries, VET system, workforce development or social media and storytelling!

About the Project

The Gippsland Women’s Fellowship - building women’s clean energy careers project is a nationally significant initiative designed to address barriers preventing women from entering and thriving in clean energy careers in Gippsland.

The project is a collaborative effort between Tradeswomen Australia, ENGIE and Gippsland TAFE with funding from the Federal Government Department of Education and Workplace Relations through their Building Women's Careers Initiative.

The project will:

  • Train and place 30 women into skilled clean energy jobs.
  • Deliver a Vocational Taster Program tailored to regional women’s needs.
  • Support clean energy employers to undertake workplace culture and structural improvements.
  • Build long-term networks and partnerships to ensure ongoing support for women in the region.
  • Develop a best practice model that can be replicated in other industries and regions across Australia.

This initiative will not only create direct employment opportunities but also drive systemic change in Gippsland’s clean energy sector, making it more inclusive for women now and in the future.

Job Summary

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for leading and coordinating the Gippsland Fellowship Project aimed at increasing women’s participation in clean energy careers in the Gippsland region.

The ideal candidate will have experience in project management, administration, diversity and inclusion, and local knowledge of the Gippsland region. Experience in male-dominated industries, vocational education, or workforce development will be highly regarded. TWA's existing people and skills will support and compliment the successful candidate.
