Mental Health Clinician - Kadina / Port Augusta

We are currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinician to join Primary Mental Health team and contribute to our client's vision of improving mental health outcomes in small communities.

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will play a key role in delivering focused psychological interventions to clients with mental health concerns within primary care settings. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, providing evidence-based therapeutic strategies and fostering positive mental health outcomes for individuals and their families. The role involves coordinating treatment plans, offering therapeutic interventions, and ensuring timely and quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the planning and implementation of assessment and treatment services for clients.
  • Provide goal-oriented, evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Formulate individualised care plans in collaboration with clients, their families, staff, and external service providers
  • Participate actively in clinical supervision, peer support, and continuous professional development
  • Contribute to the professional knowledge base and clinical governance framework
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client care and adhere to organizational processes
  • Support the team in ensuring effective program delivery and compliance within the policies and procedures

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Social Worker: Tertiary qualification in Social Work and current Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Registration
  • Psychologist / Provisional Psychologist / Occupational Therapist: Tertiary qualification in relevant field and current AHPRA Registration
  • Registered Nurse (RN): Current Registered Nurse (Division 1) or higher registration with AHPRA, and a postgraduate qualification in mental health

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a primary/community mental health setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds and manage complex caseloads

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • At least two years of full-time post-graduate experience in a primary/community mental health setting
  • Experience in delivering cognitive behavioral therapy or other specialised therapeutic strategies
  • Knowledge of culturally sensitive interventions and professional ethics
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and across multiple locations

Additional Requirements:

  • National Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current driver's license and the ability to travel if required
