Collaborate as part of a team to assist consumers in engaging with the Mental Health & Wellbeing Service Model, involving collaborative support and care planning.
Participate fully as a team member by cooperating closely with a multi-disciplinary team, engaging in reflective practice, and actively contributing to team huddles, decision-making processes, service planning sessions, supervision, and staff development activities.
Engage with the supervisor in probation assessments, bi-annual performance reviews, regular supervision, and training and development plans.
Contribute to the development of best practices by informing policies and project submissions based on personal experiences of mental illness.
Contribute to regular evaluations of service effectiveness in consultation with consumers and carers.

- About you:
- Lived experience of mental illness, mental health crisis or caring for someone living with a mental illness and demonstrated experience of recovery.
- Experience of the public or private mental health system
- Computer literacy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates an interest and understanding of others and ability to relate to people at all levels.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic manner.
- Ability to establish respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries with consumers, staff and partner organisations.
- Mental Health Qualification: It is a requirement of the Peer Support Worker position that you hold, and provide evidence of, a Mental
- Health (or equivalent Human Services, Community Services) qualification of Certificate IV level or above, or complete such a qualification within 2 years of your commencement of employment.
- All staff are required to adhere to the organisations immunisation and vaccination policy directives to minimise the risk of vaccine preventable diseases to protect workers, other employees, consumers, and visitors.

- A valid and current Police Check
