Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate Regional community development officer to play a key role in supporting community organisations, with a particular focus on sporting clubs and local initiatives.

This role involves working closely with grassroots sports organisations, leagues, and associations to implement evidence-based programs that promote wellbeing and reduce harm.

Key Duties

• Develop and deliver community-based programs that support harm reduction and wellbeing, with a focus on sporting organisations.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community sports clubs, leagues, associations, councils, and local health services.
• Facilitate training workshops, forums, and community education sessions for sporting groups and other community organisations.
• Support clubs and organisations in developing action plans to create safer, healthier environments.
• Identify and engage sporting clubs that would benefit from harm reduction and wellbeing initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate program impact, providing insights for continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in community development, stakeholder engagement, or program facilitation, particularly in sports-based settings.
• Strong public speaking and facilitation skills, with experience delivering training and workshops.
• Ability to engage diverse communities and build lasting partnerships with sporting organisations.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A degree in community development, social sciences, health promotion, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• A current driver's licence.
