The Role:
As a Paediatric Speech Pathologist, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing speech pathology services for children in the local community. This includes assessments, goal-setting, interventions, and working with families and educators to build skills that enhance the development of children. You will have the opportunity to work across several programs, including:
- Children's Services: Multidisciplinary therapy and assessments
- School Readiness: Supporting preschool educators with capacity-building and preparing children for school transition
- ASD Assessment Clinic (Grade 2/3): Conducting multidisciplinary ADOS assessments and diagnostic support
- Pathways to Good Health Clinic (Grade 2/3): Providing support to children in out-of-home care
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualised treatment plans for children
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care
- Provide therapy in both group and individual settings
- Work closely with families and carers to continue therapy at home
- Supervise and mentor junior staff (Grade 2/3 roles)
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to program evaluation
What You'll Bring:
- Mandatory Qualifications: Bachelor of Speech Pathology, Speech Pathology Australia Membership, Victorian Driver's License
- Experience: Previous experience in community health, working with children, and in schools or kindergartens
- Desirable: Experience with the Medicare Benefits Scheme
- Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and ability to manage a caseload
