Remote / Work from Home
The Trans Justice Project is a national, trans-led organisation whose mission is to build a powerful movement working for freedom, justice and equality for all trans and gender diverse people.
The role of the Admin Support Officer is to help ensure the smooth running of the Trans Justice Project through keeping accurate records, assisting with the development of processes and procedures, and supporting the Board and Director where needed.
The Trans Justice Project is a new organisation, being founded at the beginning of this year. This means that your work will be quite varied, ranging from drafting policies, supporting the board, answering emails, and data entry, and will help lay the foundations for how the organisation grows.
This is an identified role for people who are trans or gender diverse. People from a diverse range of genders, cultures, abilities and experiences are actively encouraged to apply. We strongly encourage applications who are First Nations, live with disabilities, and/or people of colour to apply.
Trans and gender diverse people have historically been kept out of many forms of employment. That’s why formal experience and training is less important to us than excitement to learn, a proactive attitude, and alignment with our organisational culture and values.
If you meet even just a few of the criteria above we strongly encourage you to still apply.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing organisation at the forefront of trans justice campaigning in Australia. The Trans Justice Project is a team player, helping to support the broader movement for trans justice to be as effective and powerful as it can be. We value solidarity and bringing people together around a shared vision for change.
We are aiming to build a workplace that prioritises healthy relationships, learning, and personal growth. One where we treat each other with respect, where people work reasonable hours, and we take the time to do things well.
You will not be expected to work evenings or nights unless there are events that require your attendance. This will rarely happen in your role and will be communicated ahead of time.
We are happy to be flexible around when you work your hours during the week provided that you are available for a set number of hours regularly on a Monday and Tuesday. This may make the role well-suited for people with small children, who are working another job, or who need to manage a chronic illness.
We offer an award salary, 12.5% super, and two weeks [to be extended in the future] paid gender affirmation leave that can be accessed at any time.
