We are looking for a dedicated and community-focused Neighbourhood House Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of Trentwood at the Hub. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys developing community programs, and has a passion for engaging with diverse groups.

As the Neighbourhood House Coordinator, you will have the autonomy to create, promote, and manage a diverse range of activities that respond to local needs. You will build strong partnerships with community members, local businesses, and stakeholders, ensuring that Trentwood at the Hub remains a vital and vibrant space for connection and learning.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY ARE:

  • Program Development & Management: Design and implement community programs and activities that meet local needs, recruiting tutors and facilitators to deliver high-quality sessions
  • Community Engagement & Partnerships: Build strong relationships with local businesses, schools, service providers, and community groups to foster collaboration and resource-sharing
  • Marketing & Events: Work with the Marketing & Engagement Coordinator to promote programs through digital and print media, and coordinate engaging community events
  • Site Coordination & Operations: Oversee the maintenance and functionality of Trentwood at the Hub, liaising with contractors and ensuring a welcoming and safe environment
  • Volunteer & Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and tutors, ensuring alignment with AccessHC policies
  • Governance & Reporting: Maintain accurate administrative records, evaluate programs, and adhere to funding guidelines set by Boroondara Council and other stakeholders

KEY Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in program development and marketing, with a strong understanding of community needs and engagement strategies
  • Project & event management expertise, with the ability to plan, promote, and execute impactful initiatives
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience supervising staff and volunteers
    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
  • Ability to build networks and partnerships, collaborating with community stakeholders and service providers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
