Tresillian is seeking an Operations Nurse Manager for the Tresillian QEII Centre in Canberra, ACT. You will be joining a supportive and committed team that is guided by Tresillian’s values of Access, Respect, Partnership, Integrity and Excellence.

This senior role is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the Centre, setting the standard of client care; and is pivotal to the coordination of client care, centre management and leadership of the clinical and corporate services to ensure the delivery of high-quality client care. This role is responsible for surveillance and monitoring through the development of reporting systems including a dashboard that tracks the efficient and effective financial, organisational, physical and human resource allocation for ongoing service development, standardised service delivery and quality client care.

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading as Tresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). Tresillian is now the largest early child and family health and parenting service in Australia, operating from four sites in metropolitan Sydney and numerous regional and rural sites supporting service provision to families across NSW, VIC, ACT and TASMANIA.

Applicants are to please address the Selection Criteria:

  1. Registered as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the ACT Nursing and Midwifery Board with further qualifications (or willing to undertake further qualifications) in Child & Family Health.
  2. Postgraduate management qualifications or working towards the same; with a minimum of twelve months experience in leadership or management roles in a health setting with a proven ability to manage, supervise and provide leadership to the team; and demonstrate sound judgment in decision making.
  3. Considerable experience in contemporary Child & Family Health.
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage human resources; and to lead and manage teams through high level communication, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  5. Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, monitoring and leading improvement projects.
  6. An understanding of change management principles and demonstrated experience in change leading change in the workplace.
  7. Demonstrated computer literacy being competent at Word, PowerPoint and Excel Microsoft packages and applications
  8. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of work health safety legislation, quality improvement principles and cultural safety principles, with a particular focus on clinical areas.
  9.  Current ACT driver's licence and ability to travel throughout ACT.

Prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:

  1. Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check
  2. Comply with ACT Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination clinical procedure
