About the Role
As Senior Accountant you will provide effective financial management and improved system capabilities that will ensure the business can consistently deliver as it continues to grow and evolve. This position demands attention to detail, a passion for numbers, and collaboration with various departments. As a key member, you'll contribute to our veterans' care initiatives and support overall financial health. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and develop new skills while improving our processes.
Key Duties
- Meet all financial reporting requirements including detailed monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Monthly reconciliations and work papers and responsibility for general ledgers
- Accounting control over cut-off deadlines and timelines for reporting
- Overview of processing timeliness and accuracy of AP/AR, ledger and banking transactions
- Review and implementation of processes
- Review and analysis of monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow movements against budget and forecasts.
- Assist with preparation of 3-way budgets/forecasts
- Manage legislative reporting returns and associated requirements
- Oversee statutory obligations such as (BAS returns, Income Tax returns, Payroll Tax, Workcover, Superannuation, IAS).
- Create and solidify processes and procedures for accurate accounting data.
- Train and manage a team of two junior accountants
Professional Skills
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
- CA/CPA qualified
- Strong Financial Management understanding, analysis, and interpretation skills. - Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Strong teamwork and coaching skills.
- Highly organised and accurate with flexibility to be adaptable in a fast-moving environment whilst meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with competency in providing finance support to non-financial people.
- An intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Solid experience of finance systems such as MYOB Advanced and Xero.
- Aged Care industry experience is desirable, but not essential.

- Strong computer skills, with intermediate knowledge and application of Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel)

- Enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary team and willing to roll your sleeves up as and when required
Mandatory Requirements
- Current Federal Police Clearance (not more than 12-months-old) and international Police Check if you have lived overseas in the last 10 years.
- Evidence of Australian work rights (Passport, Birth Certificate etc)
