Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is one of the world’s most effective parenting programs, designed to give parents the skills they need to raise confident, healthy children and teenagers and to strengthen family relationships. The program is active in over 30 countries and has offices in 7 countries, the Head Office is based in Indooroopilly, Brisbane. As part of our continued commitment to reconciliation and our clients, we are currently seeking an Indigenous Community Engagement Consultant to provide support to organisations and communities who are implementing Triple P.

To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive team; the Indigenous Community Engagement Consultant will provide support and guidance to Triple P’s external partner organisations, using the Triple P Implementation Framework. Supporting both Indigenous and non-Indigenous implementing organisations. Duties will include:

  • Support implementing organisations/communities to develop effective implementation processes in a culturally informed and responsive way which reflects local community needs.
  • Support implementing organisations/communities to deliver Triple P programs in a culturally informed and responsive way which reflects local community needs.
  • Support the development of training and accreditation plans.
  • Support the development of active evaluation processes.
  • Visit organisations (travel will be required) to support implementation.

The Person

Required or desired skills to perform the role are:

  • A degree in public or human services (psychology, public health, health education, social work, social and behavioural sciences) is desirable or relevant demonstrated experience will be considered.
  • Own transport and Drivers Licence are essential.
  • Experience in engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations or communities on a local, state or federal level.
  • Experience managing programs or projects related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Experience with Triple P as a practitioner, researcher or local coordinator.
