The Role:
As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide support to individuals living with a mental illness and/or disability in the community. We believe in a shared responsibility to assist people, and we're looking for proactive and positive individuals to join our team.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals in the community living with a disability and/or mental illness.
- Provide direct support as outlined in NDIS service plans, focusing on socially inclusive activities in the community.
- Deliver direct care in the home, including social support, personal care, domestic assistance, meal prep, and other activities of daily living.
- Experience working with personality disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar, etc., is highly valued. You will be risk-averse and want to make a difference in a person's life.
Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate:
- Certificate pertinent to mental health, disability, and/or significant related experience.
- Current First Aid & CPR ( or willingness to obtain ).
- Current full Drivers License & Registered & Insured Vehicle.
- Willingness to travel.
- Current Working with Children's Check.
- NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Completed all NDIS Mandatory Modules.

- Previous experience in providing support to individuals living with disabilities and/or mental illness in a community setting.
- Ability to adhere to NDIS service plans and deliver support services in accordance with individual needs and preferences.
- Experience in facilitating socially inclusive activities within the community and promoting participation and engagement.
- Competency in providing direct care services, including personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, and other activities of daily living.
- Knowledge and understanding of various mental health conditions, including personality disorders, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues, participants, and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with individuals receiving support.
- Proactive and positive attitude towards supporting individuals with complex needs, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding.
- Willingness to undergo ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in disability and mental health support.
