The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here - providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
At The Salvation Army we are dedicated to empowering youth and fostering positive social change. As one of the largest national youth social services providers, our aim is to deliver innovative and impactful services that uplift young people and their communities. Our commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and psychologically-informed care drives us to seek a dynamic, visionary leader for the role of General Manager of Youth. This is a permanent, full-time vacancy based out of Blackburn, Melbourne (although national applications will also be considered).
Reporting directly to the Head of Social Mission and with eight direct reports this role will be responsible for leading all of The Salvation Army's specialist work with young people nationally. This includes driving innovation and service strategy, governance of service delivery, leadership and development of a national team (State Managers and specialists) and being a leading presence in the sector to promote and advocate the needs of young people while delivering best practice.
If you embody our belief in the potential of every individual, understanding that each young person has a unique story that deserves care, support, advocacy, and hope, we would love to speak to you. We are looking for compassionate people who share our mission and values. If you have the passion and drive to commit yourself to a challenging and rewarding role; we invite you to apply via the "Apply Now" link and submit a current CV and a cover letter which details your alignment with the essential requirements of the role.
