Everyday tasks can become more difficult as people age. The Salvation Army offers a range of services to support older Australians to live independently in their own homes and communities. We are looking for Home Care Workers to assist our clients across Canberra with domestic assistance duties which might include cleaning, ironing, laundry etc.

The Home Care Worker - Cleaner positions' core purpose is to provide support to our clients with general cleaning duties in accordance with their assessed individual needs and wishes, to enable the client to remain living in their home independently.

ABOUT YOU

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the Christian values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Motivation to work with older people living in the community and an understanding of their needs and of consumer directed care
  • Strong customer service focus and good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and safely in a client's home and out in the community.
  • Good communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English
  • Current driver's licence, good driving record, access to a reliable car which is comprehensively insured and willingness to use it for work purposes.
