The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role

We have a new exciting opportunity for a values driven and proactive Receptionist to support the North West Social Mission Streams based in Shepparton. You will provide reception duties, including initial client assessment and allocation to the appropriate service area or referral to other external services as appropriate and administrative support.

Reporting to the Regional Administrator this position is full-time permanent however flexibility with hours will be considered and can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

You will successfully:

  • Screen incoming calls and assess client's needs to take appropriate actions and manage enquiries effectively
  • Professionally manage visitors in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner
  • Provide support for walk in clients
  • Diary management and coordination of appointments
  • Ensure front of house and communal areas always neat and tidy
  • Assist with planning and logistics for meetings and events including the setup of Board and IT rooms, organising catering, and audio-visual requirements
  • Prepare correspondence and process incoming/outgoing correspondence and documents
  • Drive fleet vehicles to for servicing requirements and update vehicle condition reports
  • Complete general office administration tasks in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Review data and process data entry in various systems as required; extract information from systems and compile data for managers as required
  • Purchasing office supplies for site as required
  • Carry out duties when required to provide backup relief for the Site Administrator
  • Essential fire safety responsibilities are completed as per site schedule
  • Check First Aid Kits and ensure they are maintained with supplies ordered

This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Shepparton, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Schads SOC 2.1 - Clerk.

You will have:

  • Relevant business qualification such as certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration (Desirable, not a requirement)
  • Demonstrate experience in reception/administration responsibilities
  • Intermediate ability with Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems preferred
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
