About the Role
As a Senior Support Coordinator, you will provide high-level support coordination to participants. Fluency in Auslan is essential for this role, as you will be communicating directly with participants who are Deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring their needs are met effectively and inclusively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of complex cases, providing high-level support coordination to participants.
- Promote community awareness of available services and support options.
- Track, monitor, and report hours against each client's allocated budgets.
- Mentor and guide Support Coordinators to ensure they deliver high-quality, person-centred services.
- Facilitate referrals to internal and external services, ensuring participants' needs are prioritised.
- Support the Manager of Support Coordination in achieving team goals and escalate when KPIs are at risk.
- Lead team knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for participants to engage with community services and programs that enhance social and economic participation.
Skills and Experience
- Fluent in Auslan.
- Extensive knowledge of, and awareness of the Deaf community and culture.
- Strong understanding of the NDIS and NDIA policies.
- 1+ years experience in the disability sector, particularly in a Support Coordinator or Senior Support Coordinator role.
- Experience mentoring and guiding a team to deliver high-quality services.
- Passion for providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with disabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and confidence in using various systems and online platforms.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with participants, families, and service providers.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team environment.
- NDIS Worker Orientation and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel as required.
