The Wilderness Society is an independent environmental advocacy organisation. The work we do leverages our strong base to build a mass movement for nature conservation in Australia. Since 1976, we've stood at the forefront of the country's most historic campaigns, including the Franklin River, Fraser Island, Tasmanian Forests and James Price Point in the Kimberley. Today, we're training a new generation of environmental leaders with a sophisticated community organising program and building support for effective and lasting change to our environmental laws.

The position:

This role provides the opportunity to drive the development of our operational plans to improve financial performance in alignment with the broad Wilderness Society strategy.

About you:

You are an experienced CFO who will provide direction and management to our finance manager and HR team, and strategic advice to our CEO and Leadership team.

You have experience motivating and developing a diverse group of professional staff and extensive knowledge and understanding of financial management practices, government policies and legislation applicable to the not-for-profit sector.
