The Wilderness Society is working for a future that does not rely on continued destruction of nature and our climate. We value organisational independence and integrity.
Be part of a team that’s secured some of the biggest wins for Australian wilderness and nature: stopping the damming of the Franklin River nearly fifty years ago, keeping big oil out of the Great Australian Bight, or defending special forests the length and breadth of this continent.
The Regular Giving Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic growth and operational management of The Wilderness Society’s Regular Giving program. This position drives membership acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies to secure sustainable revenue growth. It requires a dynamic, data-driven approach to optimise initiatives across face-to-face, digital, telemarketing and direct mail channels. Strong leadership, project management expertise, and a commitment to The Wilderness Society’s values are central to the role.
This role manages multi-channel fundraising projects from planning through to evaluation, ensuring that regular giving initiatives are efficient and effective. It involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve a coordinated and compliant approach to fundraising.
Reporting to the Director M&F, the role is based in Melbourne/Regional Victoria on a hybrid basis, with occasional after-hours work and short-notice travel requirements.
You are a natural leader who brings clarity, confidence, and inspiration to everything you do. You know that leadership is more than making decisions — it’s about setting a clear vision, building trust, and motivating people to achieve ambitious goals. You step into challenges with decisiveness, take ownership, and bring your team with you.
You think beyond the day-to-day. You are a strategic thinker who connects the dots between data, storytelling, and market trends to create compelling donor experiences and long-term fundraising success. You anticipate challenges before they arise and shape bold, creative solutions.
You bring emotional intelligence to your leadership. You are aware of how your communication and actions impact those around you. You listen actively, engage with empathy, and foster an environment where people feel heard, supported, and encouraged to do their best work.
You are a clear and influential communicator. You don’t just send instructions — you make sure messages land, are understood, and inspire action. You keep teams aligned, connected to the vision, and focused on shared outcomes.
You are passionate about building relationships — with your team, colleagues, and supporters. People trust you, feel comfortable approaching you, and know you will follow through. You proactively invest in creating meaningful connections that strengthen collaboration and fundraising success.
You lead by example. Your strong work ethic is evident in your reliability, accountability, and drive. You take ownership of results, consistently deliver on commitments, and remain focused and resilient when things get tough.
Finally, you bring strong business acumen. You understand that delivering exceptional supporter experiences needs to be balanced with financial awareness, operational efficiency, and alignment with the organisation’s mission and strategy. You make thoughtful, informed decisions that drive both impact and sustainability.
If you are ready to lead with purpose, inspire others, and take regular giving to the next level — we’d love to hear from you.
Our approach to diversity is about embracing everyone. From building a culture where you can bring your best self to work, to deploying initiatives that support the different needs of our staff, we are proud to be part of building an inclusive world for all. If you identify as a First Nations person, a woman, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, a person with a disability, a person of colour, or if you are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, we strongly encourage you to apply.
All qualified applicants will be considered regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status. We're committed to reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process for applicants with disabilities; please let us know if you require any.
