We are looking for experienced, skilled, and dynamic staff who have worked in either union organising and/or campaigning to join our national campaigns team.
The Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) is one of Australia’s leading campaigning trade unions, holding some of the biggest companies in the world to account over their treatment of workers, such as Qantas, Amazon and the supermarket giants.
The TWU has cemented its role as a powerful voice for aviation workers, playing an integral role in rebuilding the industry, fighting for a reset of decent jobs above and below the wing, and getting Virgin Australia back in the air after administration. Our members achieved a historic victory against Qantas in the Federal Court, Full Court of Appeal and High Court over the illegal outsourcing of 1700 workers and is gearing up for a historic fight to reset industry standards and campaign for a Safe and Secure Skies Commission.
We have recently won a groundbreaking legal system to set minimum standards in road transport, including world-first rights for gig economy workers like food delivery riders, rideshare drivers and AmazonFlex parcel couriers. This is an exciting time to join our union as we activate our membership to utilise these new precedent-setting laws and lift standards right across the industry.
Are you interested in fighting multinational corporations, organising the workers who carry our country and ensuring safer skies and roads for everyone in Australia? We run comprehensive campaigns to give transport workers a powerful voice in the workplace, in Parliament, and in the community.
The team is made up of experienced organisers, campaigners, and educators who work together to create and implement national campaigns across the union. We are looking to add campaigners and/or organisers to the team, so if you think you meet the criteria below, we would love to hear from you:
