What we are looking for
An experienced project or event manager to deliver key strategic events through our climate portfolio, including a new youth climate dialogue scheduled for the end of 2025, the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY), and other activations, as required.
Your work will include
1. Event development
- Develop and monitor project plan and related tools to track and achieve progress for the youth climate dialogue and other events.
- Co-ordinate and manage all aspects of the youth climate dialogue and other events as required
- Provide regular reports on progress and outstanding results
- Manage associated budgets
2. Event delivery
- Execute delivery of key activations at the youth climate dialogue and other relevant events
- Establish speaking panels including preparing and managing all communication between speakers, moderators and event team
- Develop/draft communications, develop run sheets and event plans
- Liaise with external organisations on activation delivery
3. Stakeholder management
- Work closely with the Head of Climate and Chief of Staff to ensure strong stakeholder management at the youth climate dialogue and other relevant events
- Engage directly with youth advisory groups and other youth leaders to ensure that relevant events are youth-led.
- Act as the main point of contact with a diverse array of key stakeholders involved in events ensuring strong engagement and communication.
- Set up internal working group to manage each component of the event.
4. Social media/communication
- Work with the social media and communication team to develop collateral for promotion of event including recruitment of young people to specific youth events.
- Promote of key activities on different channels to varied UNICEF audiences.
- Support partners and participants to promote their participation
5. Child and youth safeguarding
- Work with the relevant teams to ensure all child and youth safeguarding processes and procedures are followed
- Complete relevant risk assessments to minimise chances of safeguarding violation
6. Other engagement
- Support the Head of Climate and the Policy and Advocacy team to curate the youth climate dialogue and events such that align with the needs and perspectives of youth
- Contribute to the development of policy agendas, and advocacy activities associated with the relevant e events.
We would like you to have the following skills and experience
- Extensive experience in large scale, multi-stakeholder event planning and management
- Demonstrable experience in managing partnerships and varied stakeholder interests
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables to meet tight timelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Qualifications in a relevant field, including but not limited to communication, marketing, event management, stakeholder relations, or policy.
- A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working in climate action, aid and development, or meaningful youth engagement.
- Desirable: Experience working in climate or emergency response campaigns, advocacy, or policy
- Desirable: Experience working with youth leaders, youth-led organisations, government, or private sector
