The Department of General Practice is part of the Melbourne Medical School, within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. The Department promotes excellence in general practice through teaching and learning, research and research training, and knowledge transfer to general practitioners and primary care nurses.
The role will be responsible for coordinating the Victorian Research and Education Network (VicREN), a network of general practices all around Victoria that help our Department train medical students and contribute to research. Over 600 of these general practices are actively engaged in both teaching and research, with a subgroup in our Data for Decisions special interest group which contributes de-identified electronic medical record data for research purposes.
The key aspects of this role are building and maintaining relationships with general practice staff (general practitioners, practice nurses, practice managers and receptionists) and managing recruitment of these general practices for research projects. In addition, the role triages requests for general practice data and supports the data governance and management committees for the Data for Decisions program.
This role is suitable for someone with a passion for maximising health and well-being of the population through best quality primary care. The applicant will have exceptional relationship management and project management skills.
