Unions NSW is the peak council of trade unions in NSW representing over 600,000 members and 60 affiliated unions and trades and labour councils and is proudly part of the Australian trade union movement.

Unions NSW is excited to receive a 1-year grant from the Australian Federal Government to collaborate with organisations to increase Gender Equity in workplaces.

Responsibilities

Essential Criteria 

  • Experience in layout and design, social media promotions and marketing.
  • High level computer literacy with experience working with the relevant software programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in gender equality.
  • Capacity to prioritise work and exercise judgement.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • A clear understanding and commitment to trade union principles. 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Bilingual/multilingual 
  • Experience with Union or progressive organisations
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

Conditions and Entitlements 

  • Personal Leave: 10 days per annum (accumulative) 
  • Annual Leave: 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading inclusive of the 12 month project
  • Superannuation: SG employer contributions, plus an extra 2% for female-identifying staff. 
  • Parental Leave: 52 weeks leave including 22 weeks paid parental leave or 4 weeks paid parental leave for the non-primary carer 
  • Family and Domestic Violence Leave: 20 days
  • Salary will be subject to the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
