Unions NSW is excited to receive a 1year grant from the Australian Government to collaborate with organisations to increase Gender Equity in workplaces.

Essential Criteria:
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws or other relevant qualifications
- Will consider recent graduate or final year student or experience at equivalent level working as an Industrial Officer for a union
Skills and competencies
- High level knowledge in gender discrimination and inequality and how laws, policy, and practice can reduce inequality.
- Exceptional capacity to apply a gendered analysis to industrial and other workplace instruments and constructs that adversely impact on gender equity.
- Capacity to prioritise work, exercise judgement and initiative, while providing high level evidence and support.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level organisational skills.
- High level problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proactive and self-directed while also working as a positive team member
- A clear understanding and commitment to trade union principles
- Well-developed information technology skills with proven competence in the application of Microsoft Office suite
Desirable Criteria
- Bilingual / multilingual
- Experience in advocacy and campaigns
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
Conditions and Entitlements
- Personal Leave: 10 days per annum (accumulative)
- Annual leave: 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
- Superannuation: SG employer contributions, extra 2% for female identifying staff.
- Parental Leave: 52 weeks leave including 22 weeks paid parental leave or 4 weeks paid parental leave for the non-primary carer
- Family and Domestic Violence Leave: 20 days
Salary will be subject to qualifications and experience of the success candidate.
