The USU is seeking to employ a highly motivated and experienced Organiser within the Local Government Division. The position is based in the Sydney Office.
The position requires an experienced and highly skilled organiser to attend to the needs of the membership in all industry sectors covered by the Union, including Local Government, Clerical, Administrative, Energy, Airlines and Utilities, but will primarily be dealing with Local Government.
- Salary will be in accordance with the Union’s skills-based salary remuneration policy

Skills and experience required, include:
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve industrial conflict
- Extensive knowledge of awards, industrial relations legislation and the Fair Work Act
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of trade unionism and the labour movement
- Has completed Union Delegates Training course and/or tertiary qualifications in industrial relations or human resource management
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills,
- Computer literate
- RTA class C drivers licence
- Ability to undertake (when required) regional travel
